One year without blogging: what happened

One year without blogging: what happened during my absence from Fleur d’Hiver? Those of you who have been following me on Instagram probably felt like the day of my return on the blog was getting closer. I want to apologize to those who have been reading my blog, for suspending my activity without an explanation. I’ve stopped blogging for one year, it wasn’t planned. Since the beginning of it, I loved everything about being a blogger: the photos, the reviews, the creativity. I can’t explain why but last year, all in the sudden, I felt overwhelmed by all of it. I was pushing myself to write about the latest news,…

    Roma Moderna – Modern Rome

Roma moderna is the italian translation of “modern Rome”. As a proud roman girl, I like to show every side of my city, Rome is indeed known for being the eternal city. While history and ancient ruins are almost behind every corner, Rome has also a modern quarter. It might come as a surprise, especially for someone who has never been there. I’m in the Eur quarter, which I have already shared in this post. More specifically, I’m by the Colosseo Quadrato which is also the  Fendi Headquarter. I’m wearing a casual look, perfect for the Fall season. This black and white sweater from Bershka is a new entry in…

    Pink and Black Outfit

This is a light pink and black outfit for everyday. It could be a solution for a first date or a chic outfit for the office. The style is easy to go, simple jeans and a knitted pull over are enriched with accessories. I never wear two different brands at the same time, because I don’t like seeing two different patterns. This time I’m making an exception, because the Burberry pattern is the only one appearing, and the Chanel bag’s logo is not too big. While a pink and black outfit looks good for a casual outfit, a white and pink combination could be a great solution for the same purposes.…

    Ask Alessia

I’ve received an email from a girl that inspired me to create this new category “Ask Alessia“.  You can ask me to create an outfit for you, and I’ll share the pictures. I’m going to rename Sara the girl that wrote me, just to protect her privacy. The original email was in Italian, so I’m going to translate the email for you. Sara wrote me this: “Hi Alessia, I really like your blog and I’d like you to suggest me how to dress. I’ve recently bought a faux leather jacket but I don’t know how to wear it without looking too punk/gothic.” In our exchanges of emails she told me…

    Sweet Harmony

This post was supposed to be published at least two weeks ago, but I’ve taken some time off from my routine, I really needed it after all the graduation work. I’ve spent few days in Umbria, which is an area that it’s one hour of driving from Rome, I’ve been posting pictures on my Instagram and some of them are also on Twitter so you can take a look before I post about it. The style of this outfit is something that you can wear everyday, it’s very comfortable and the lace top makes it look chic at the same time. I like how the red pants match the colors…

    Life is a Flower

Life is a Flower, I’ve had this Ace of Base’s song on my mind since I’ve started to see the spring flowers around Rome. Spring is my favorite season, every year it feels like it goes away too fast before the arrival of summer, don’t you feel that way too? It’s the only time of the year that we are allowed to go out wearing just a top and a blazer. People might stare at if you do that during winter, or summer! I’m wearing a casual outfit with light and bright colors, it could also work for an occasion or a party with friends. I’m wearing: Top: Guess Blazer:…

    When in Rome…

When in Rome, let’s say it…I spend a lot of time doing shopping! I don’t necessarily buy everything that I see, but it’s still considered shopping. This time I would like to show you some new entries into my wardrobe. First of all, my new Guess Jacket, which is on sale now. It’s a blue navy cape jacket, with faux fur details. While it’s very nice and comfortable it’s also easy to match with other items. In this outfit I’ve matched the cape jacket with another new item, a pair of white pants from Zara. These not so new over-the-knees boots from Aldo are completing this look. I have to…
