Interview with Natalia

Natalia is a fashionista based in Iceland. In this interview, she will talk about her emerging brand and what fashion means to her.

Hello Natalia, tell us a little bit about yourself.

Hi Alessia! Thank you for inviting me, it’s a great pleasure! I’m a Polish girl living in Iceland, professionally a scientist who loves dressing up so I express my fashionable, creative side on my Instagram page.

What is fashion for you?

Fashion is, of course a passion and fun to play with, but it has deeper meaning to me. It’s a way of expressing myself and a subtle communication of my personality or mood. I believe that clothes should make us feel good about ourselves, give confidence and courage to conquer the world!

Do you have a favorite brand?

I won’t be very original here; I think it’s Zara. Because they always have fashionable pieces, make trends easily available to everyone and their clothes give a bit more originality than other, similar brands. If I look for a specific style, most likely I will find something in Zara, so this is my go-to store for fashion. However, when it comes to classics like a leather jacket, trench coat or a bag, I like to invest in premium quality, but I choose from various brands, don’t have a favorite one.

You make videos of your outfits on your Instagram, and we really like them. How do you create your videos? Do you use a specific app?

Thank you, I’m very happy to hear that! I record them on my phone and edit in InShot. It’s a video editing app which has a lot of features in the free version and it’s super easy to use!

What would you suggest to those who would like to become content creators?

It’s a very good question. I think it’s important to get inspiration from other creators, see what people are doing and what their audience likes, and then take your own spin on it. You need to add your own twist into your content, show your personality and be yourself but don’t need to invent everything from the beginning.

For those who have never done content before and are camera shy, I suggest to just record a lot and experiment with different camera angles. With the right setup everyone can look like a million dollar (!) but people often don’t know their angles and feel awkward or intimidated. Finding your best side will make you more confident also beyond the camera. It’s a life skill!

Do you have any fashion related projects for the future?

Yes! I’m actually working on a fashion project. I want to empower women and make them feel good about themselves. We are beautiful creatures but always in doubts about ourselves, full of insecurities and dealing with opinions on what and how we should be. I want us, ladies, to feel proud and celebrate being a woman. So, I created my own brand Blessed To Be A Woman to spread the message of self-love and help women build their confidence. I designed a line of T-shirts and hoodies which are meant to be a “daily confidence reminder” because I want women to feel great about themselves and embrace who they are.
