Books for the Summer – Libri per l’estate

I’d like to suggest some books for the summer, those are the kind of books that you can read while traveling on the airplane or while laying at the beach. I’ve thought of these titles because they are good and pleasant to read.

Into the Water  written by Paula Hawkins, author of the successful book “The girl on the train”. This book is just as good as the previous one, and  this time the story is told through different sides too. I suggested this book because it really caught my curiosity while I was reading, it was really hard for me to leave this book even for few hours.

The Great Gatsby written by Scott Fitzgerald, if you love the classics this is definitely for you. I’m sure you already know the story, you probably have already seen the movie where Gatsby was wonderfully played by Leonardo di Caprio. The Great Gatsby is short, the story is very interesting and well written, it’s definitely a must-read book.

The Secret written by Rhonda Byrne explains the laws of Attraction, it tells you how to attract all the things that you want in your life. You may not “believe in those things”, but I think that this book carries a lot of positive messages that make it worth to read. It made me realize how many negative thoughts I produced, and I wasn’t even aware of them. I’ve started to pay attention to my own thoughts, it was an interesting process. The Secret is definitely worth your time and who knows, maybe you will attract something fabulous in your life!

The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinette is the queen of France’s story written by her point of view as a diary. This novel tells a widely known part of History through Marie Antoniette’s eyes, showing the human side that isn’t told in history books. When you read about her life, her weaknesses and her fears, in the end you hope for a different finale for her.

Vi propongo alcuni libri per l’estate, di quelli che si possono leggere sotto l’ombrellone oppure durante un tragitto in aereo o in treno. Le trame sono per tutti i gusti, accomunate dal fatto che si leggono in poco tempo e che sono piacevoli, senza risultare troppo impegnative.

Dentro l'acqua è  l’ultimo best seller di Paula Hawkins, autrice del noto thriller La Ragazza del Treno. Anche questa volta la scrittrice non delude, Come ne “La ragazza del treno”, la storia è raccontata da diversi punti di vista. Consiglio questo libro, si legge velocemente, io l’ho letto in inglese e l’unica difficoltà incontrata è stata quella di posare il libro.

Il grande Gatsby Per chi ama i classici, la trama è talmente conosciuta che non ha bisogno di essere raccontata,  probabilmente avrete tutti già visto il film nel quale Gatsby era interpretato da Leonardo di Caprio. È un libro piccolo dalla trama coinvolgente,  si legge anche nell’arco di una giornata. Anche questo l’ho letto in lingua inglese, se siete interessati a libri scritti in lingua originale li potete facilmente trovare sia da Mondadori che da Feltrinelli.

Il Segreto di Rhonda Byrne è un libro che in realtà ho letto questo inverno. Tratta delle leggi dell’Attrazione e di come attrarre ciò che realmente si desidera dalla vita. A prescindere dal fatto che ci crediate o meno, ritengo comunque che questo libro porti con sé molti messaggi positivi, e solo per questi merita di essere letto. Per me è stato spunto di numerose riflessioni sul modo in cui tendiamo a ragionare e a formulare i nostri pensieri, diciamo che a me è servito a farmi rendere conto che penso in maniera “inconsapevole”. Poi chissà, magari attrarrete davvero qualcosa di positivo, tentare non nuoce!

Il diario segreto di Maria Antonietta è la ricostruzione dettagliata della vita della nota regina di Francia, scritta sotto forma di diario e dal punto di vista di Maria Antonietta. La trama è coinvolgente e interessante, mi è piaciuto questo modo originale di interpretare e raccontare la Storia. Questo libro racconta il punto di vista dei monarchi francesi mostrandone il lato umano e le loro debolezze, facendo quasi sperare in un finale diverso per loro.
